Founded in 1945, BerkleeCollegeofMusic, based in Boston, Massachusetts, prepares passionate students for the performance and business of music. Berklee also hosts a national music program that serves underprivileged teens in more than 30 cities throughout the United States. Berklee is the recipient of numerous awards, and honorary degrees for their students, including Grammy winners, the Oscar, and TheloniousMonkInstitute honors.
Today, October 19th, kicks off Berklee’s sixth annual CMJ showcase, starting at 7:00 p.m., located at 92YTribeca. The venue is also a new location for Berklee’s performances with CMJ.The line-up includes a varied roster of up-and-coming Boston and New York natives in pop, indie-rock, singer-songwriter, and much more. The diverse musicians featured are alumni, current students, and HeavyRotationRecords artists. HRR is Berklee’s very own student-ran record label.
The featured acts include Shea Rose, Measure, Red Oblivion, Gina’s Picture Show, Bent Knee, Golden Bloom, and the Field Effect. To read more about the artists listed, click below for links to their official websites.
Berklee’s showcase will feature a raffle to be entered to win a pass for next year’s CMJ event, as well as merchandise giveaway from Heavy Rotation Records.
